Why won't my seat go on my 250r GRRR!!!

I have been missing the seat mount that fits over the tank on my 83 250r and I finally scored one on ebay cheap. Well I got it in the mail yesterday and it went on fine and looks fine. I go to put the seat on and it won't work. The seat mount wont fit under the little tank mount. I tryed to post pics to show what I'm talking about but for some reason my photobulket picture uploader isn't working. If anyone can help with the pics I can email them to ya. I am at a loss as to why the seat won't go on it's like my brackets are different or something. :wondering

Did you get a mount for an 83'??? I think there are differences between the years.. an 85-86 bracket might not work if you got one of those...

It said it was for a 83-84. and looks like the one it should be. I'm wondering if it's the mount thats attached to the seat that's from a 85-86. O went ahead and sent that the pics 250Roostmaster.

Maybe the rubber blocks are too tall?

But everythings stock it whats getting me. Those rubber blocks come with it already.

My 84 doesn't have the rubs on the tanks try and take them off

I looked at parts schematics and there supposed to be there.

to me it looks like A. the wrong part or B. the tang needs to be bent down to insert under it or C. somehow it attaches the opposite way " hence from how it is upside down". I really don't know just going by how it looks in the pictures. Does that part slide in then the seat lock down by a latch like a ytm 225 seat, if so maybe at an angle to get it in then push the back down.

the black one slides under the slot in the goldish one and then the seat latches in the back with a lever that is slid sideways. I'm not familier with a ytm225 so I couldn't say. It doesn't appear anything is bent or tweaked if that helps.
