I am trying to get the old pads out of the caliper on my 85 250R. I have the caliper off the rotor and the pads are loose in the caliper. I see 2 bolts that go through the caliper and the pads. My problem is they are counter sunk into the caliper and they have no heads on them. They look like an allen head but the insides of them are completly round. What is suppost to be in there for bolts and how should i go about taking these out? Thanks Chris

they are allen head bolts.........in my opinion the best way to get them out is by drilling into them from the back side(with a bit that is slighly smaller than the diameter of the shank of the bolt)......you probably wont have to drill in to far before the bolt comes loose because the heat from drilling is gonna break the bolt loose........good luck and be sure to drill straight!!
this worked great on my 85 r...bolts were out in a few short minutes.bought some new ones down at the local hardware store...done deal 8)

I drilled mine completely out(the diameter of the holes in the pad) and all the way out the back of the caliper. I then replaced the bolts with stainless steel nuts and bolts. I'll never have that problem again!
