score 200x engine

i just bought a first gen 200x motor on ebay. the seller says it has a mildly ported head. a white bro's cam. and a lightened flywheel. he also told me the crank was machined. when i asked him about the crank he said the rotating assembly was lightened as the engine was in a flat track racer. never heard of that on an x, does that make sence?

the engine smokes and will need a top end rebuild. i was planning on rebuilding my motor any way

Yep to make a 200x rev to the moon we used to remove the flywheel weight and have the cranks lightened also . You wanna talk about instant throttle response LOL but maintenance and tear downs were often .

the guy you bought that from is a member here,someone (motoman i believe)just got a curtis sparks exhaust from him.

cool i need to hear more from guys that used to build/raced these motors. i dont plan on building a motor that will rev to the moon i just hoped there would be a few usable performance parts (ported head may be the cam) how ever i want to build more of a mid range kinda motor. a power plant that will brew low end torque, snap your head back and pull hard out of the hole like a rocket. wo i got carried away.


i do need some help. i hope you guys can answer a few questions.

how many 200x cam grinds did the white bros make ?
i assume the cam would be a full race cam but how do i.d. it?
what makes these engines trouble some the lightened fly wheel and cranks, and the high rpm?

thats enough questions for now. i realize that this engine may not be suited for what i want it to do. i just want to piece together a power plat that can ride the trails have mid range power to burn with a little added top end. if some of the parts dont suit my plan i will sell them.
