81-81 atc250r and 83-85 atc200x steering stems, are they the same size?

Like the title asks, are 81-82 atc250r and 83-85 atc200x steering stem sizes the same? The reason I ask is that I'm looking at picking up a project that needs a front end and the owner says he measured a 200x steering stem and it fits. I don't have one of those, but I do have an 81-82 atc250r front end and was wondering if that would fit? I like the wide tire look better anyway. That was all I saw for awhile when I was a kid, you know? LOL And info would be appreciated. Wish me luck that me and the owner can work a deal out on this machine too. It would be pretty neat and a nice addition to my "freak show"! LOL

I have a 84 200x front end bolted on an 81 250R. No mods and it works great.

Now we're getting somewhere here. Laying it on thick hey motoman!!! LOL I know alot of people like the skinnier front tire on the early trikes, but I kind of like them the way they were. Now, if I can just get motoman to work with me on this here deal.....LOL What this is for is to see if the 81-82 atc250r front end should bolt onto the front of the nicholson 500 frame. Motoman measured for the 200x stem, but I would llike to install the 81-82 atc250r front end. If you've seen my Tiger 250, then you know I'm a wide tire fan. Me and moto are just trying to iron out the fine details and hopefully it works out for the both of us. I really would like to get his nicholson and get it back on 3 wheels and get that wide front tire back on there the way it was originally designed.

Well, if it's the one that takes the 200x rear fenders and stuff, maybe it should have the 200x front end like you were planning on. But I do like those wide front tires though....

81/82R front end should go right on. only thing I could think of, is adding some steering stops. Ive only seen 2 wide tire nicks, one is here in utah somewhere. :)
I think mymint87 mints nick uses early 250r components as well. HH
