I've been itching to get my hands on a new project for months,so after a 1000 km round trip this is now in my shop. It's all there, more or less, but will need a full strip, powder coat and all that.Tank is only good for scrap, rusty as hell inside and leaks and has been bodged in a few spots. So if anyone has a reasonable tank thats good inside and can be filled and painted send me some pics.
There was a nice surprise when I looked in tool box,a full original tool kit in its pouch, looks like new,incredible!!!128597128601128599128600

Glad to see you got lucky
after all the work and driving and positive vibes you put out to the universe.
I MAY have an x tank but not sure what year.
Wait, yours is an 'R', sorry.
Did you post in the classifieds?
I just found out that one of the plastic tank distributors is like 10 miles from here
in Oregon.
Is there a town on the south coast called Sitches?
Supposed to be dreamland from what I hear.

oops.
I just knew a lovely gal from there.
In retrospect, I can see why she liked it.
How goes the trike tank search?
I had one that was see thru bad.
Lots of little pinholes of light peeking thru.
I used por 15 and it actually turns the rust to some sort of black glass
and it still doesn't leak after a couple years.
Phosphoric acid supposedly reacts with rust but I guess it's all a gamble.
Personally not real fond of plastic tanks until I got one.
I usually use a lawnmower tank or similar just to make sure a trike is worth putting $$ or time into.
Runs good, has all the gears, no real engine noises and then go ahead with
spending $$ and time.
