ok, I has having problems gettin my 185s to start, no matter what it was choked down, do ive been riding without a filter lid, wouldnt start, so I got to looking and my choke was broke, the two screws that hold the little (flapper) I guess you call it were gone and it was completly covering the intake up.....so now I either gotta find two screws, or get another carb, its only 6 months old, what do you guys think?

I think the screws are cheaper than a carb. the real question is where did they go? care to guess? you may be buying alot more than a couple screws soon.

find a screw that threads into the holes, then buy something from lowes with the same thread pattern but the length you need. i lost a ton of nuts to the motor mounts on my 185s and just put new ones on from lowes, works as good as the old nuts and lookes very shiny

just a stab in the dark here but you may wanna try a hardware store. before you ask what size to get take the carb with you. it will be a metric machine screw. sorry for the sarcasm but really?

OK, thanks, ill just pull the piece out and take it with me, it'll have to last till i get a new carb that has a better functioning choke......i hope this doesn't turn into a nightmare...

ive got the stock fuel filter in mine, my gas tanks pretty rusty and its only clogged the filter once, i powerwashed the tank and filter and it was as good as new, just re use the wire mesh filter if you can, if not one of the tiny paper filters that are on lawn mowers would work real good but you would have to replace it now and then where as you can just clean wire mesh filters such as the fuel filter and oil filter on the 185s

sorry for the double post, forgot to mention the wire filter is inside the gas tank, attatched to the petcock (fuel on off thingy), just buy new fuel line
