Quite a few months ago some guy in town was selling a quad (Honda trx 125 rough shape) and the other thing he was selling that caught my eye was a yellow trike.. After confirming it was a Yamaha and after doing a little internet surfing I roughly determined that it was a 175 Tri Moto? Either way it was a medium sized engine.. The trike was in rough shape but the man showed me that it ran.. The choke stuck, and there was something wrong with the throttle.. I wanted to buy it but he wanted to sell the quad and the trike for $200 of which I could not afford nor have enough room for.. Sadly a week or 2 later I say the trike in the back of a rough looking pick up truck heading out from a local gas station to where god only knows would happen to it.. It would have been a nice buy and restoration. If I only had the cash.. Does anyone have any experiences like this? Oh and also do you have any pictures of Tri-motos you own? Thanks :D

That always seems to be the case, when you have the money there are never any deals but when you find a great deal...no cash. I found a real nice 250SX for 500 bones and of course had just purchased my 200m so no extra funds.

sadly i just bought my big red and could not affourd it.

Yeah I'm in that situation a lot.. $50 a week doesn't cut it at the rate I buy parts haha I need a better job x.x Anyway, are Tri Motos more common than say Tri-Zs? I know for sure they are smaller than a Tri-Z. Any information on years and engine sizes? I'm just curious about the Yamaha machines :P

only if you had the money... i picked up my tri-motos non running for 75 bucks and got them running after a carb rebuild. This one sat in a shed for over 10 years owened since new buy a older guy that didnt drive it anymore. every thing is stock and plastics have no fading at all... nothing broken either

this is what it looked like when i picked it up

tri-z are more rare in my area then lets say 125's 175's and 200e,225dx 125's started from 79- 85 175's i think went from 83?-85
not sure on 200e and the 250 tri-z is the beast... but if u want a nice easy machine the 225 is amazing with electric start shaft drive front and rear shocks great wheelie machine
