129107129106129105129104here is my latest find. it has some good parts: kx cylinder with fresh .080 over bore and plating kx flywheel/ignition brand new front and rear fenders, hoosier flat trackers never run but have some cracking:( new douglas wheels all around with 6" wide on the front with a new maxxis razor on it and also a new duro flat tracker for the front. The bad is the frame is set up for a kx 500 engine and I dont plan to build one
Did you get that from jay also? Looks like a good start, low profile maier on the rear.

you got it. frame is going its no use to me. good thing I have a spare. It will be a nice runner in a week or two then I'm dumping everything 1st gen. edit...I forgot to put up a good pic of the dual plug head set up
I would love those fenders if you want to bring them to Springfield. Nice score.

I guess I made the offer too soon. sorry. when I was told about this bike it was suppose to have an 86 motor in it, my friend was getting the motor and I was going to part the rest but since I ended up with the whole deal I really cant see parting it
What about the fenders you said you had new in the package, or are these the fenders on this bike?

I could use the frame. Ive been wanting to build a 500 dragster, how much do you want for it? Whats up with the dual plug head, first time I have heard of it or saw it? awesome idea!!

I have a front fender in the bag. I was planning to use the fenders on this one for my other 85 and sell the nib front and perfect rears but now it looks that I am putting 2 trikes together. I have a set of faded maiers that I could part with 84t3 pm an offer for the frame the dual plug head is a stocker with some machine work now I just have to dig into my snowmobile parts for a coil with 2 leads
Thanks for getting back. Looks like I'll just try and find another set or wait for one to pop up on ebay.

tough find, good luck. I have oem fenders too but are badly oxidized kinda like yours. when I find the time I am going to do some resto work on them then sell. it is very tedious work and my attention span isnt all that, so it will pobably be a while

What kind of performance do you get with having the two plugs, I under stand that bigger is better and more is never enough and that 2 will give more spark and burn fuel better but is this so you can run a huge carb or what, has me very curious. Do you have to have a beefed up stator or is this kinda like having one??

I havnt run it yet. the idea behind the dual plugs is to get a more efficent burn and get the most out of the fuel that is in the combustion chamber. arctic cat did this on the old el tigre 400's and I have seen alot of race motors with this set up. funny cars run 2 distributers and 16 plugs. I really dont know the differance it will really make. I think there must be a reason it never really caught on with factory engines. but then again dont the new hemis run 16 plugs? I could be wrong but I thought I heard that somwhere

I got a buddy that has a few kx 500 motors all biult up and am gonna see if he can part with one for the build. Another friend does custom extended swingers and stuff so Ill be bothering him also! This is gonna be a sweet *ss machine when Im done with it!!

My 05 Hemi had 2 plugs per cylinder. I just don't know the reason behind it. Better burn sounds logical. Expensive tune up though!!

its an ITP the only numbers I see on it are 04 10 4 8 not sure if that is a date code or a part number. it probably has a barcode or other identifying mark on the inside but I really dont wanna dismount it. its not exactly a bolt on deal but almost. the studs need to be removed and 3/16" nneeds to be shaved off the the hub to perfectly center it but thats pretty easy for anyone with a good lathe

yeah thats no problem i figured the hub had to be modified to work with a smaller rim, and didnt think it was an itp it doesnt have the clover look, i dont mean to be a pain but do you know the back space off each side of the rim?

Lookin good Ben!! What are your plans for it, daily rider or gonna do some mods to it? it's for sale as soon as its done. just waiting on a couple parts to finish. as far as mods it has a kx motor .080 nik'd not sleeved (hasn't been fired yet)over full dg pipe 40mil (I think) carb gotta double check the numbers +2 oem swingarm and I have 5" wheel spacers but they are 4on 4" pattern so it would be up to the buyer if they wanted the brand new wheels that are on it or nice but used wheels to work with the spacers. either way it will have new tires on the rear. OH and the dual plug head. it will also come with the kxt clutch basket and crank gear if the buyer doesnt like the taller gearing of the kx. but this motor should have the gitty up to make it shlt and git thats why I didnt change the crank gear

Just use photobucket, it's so much easier and you can use bigger pics. Create an account, upload the pics, save them, copy and past the IMG code into your post, and there ya go!

By the looks of that last picture your tecates multiply when you get them wet. So do mine, haha. I'm about ready to redo that shock, i'm going to give you a call this week because i forgot most of the info you gave me. Looks like a nice trike, shouldn't be too hard to sell
