Last week I picked up a 200x that I found on craigslist. The owner was selling it because it had no compression and he didn't want to put in the time for a rebuild. I tore it down the next day and found that it had a performance cam, a ported head, K&N filter, DG exhaust, and a 12:1 wiseco piston.

I found that the engine seemed to have low hours on the rebuild but a hole had melted through the piston so I ordered up a 10.25:1 piston and gave it a rebuild. Well I got it rebuilt and now I have found that it won't idle and can be somewhat difficult to start. So I went for the carb next and I've found that it is a 30mm keihin pd 32a carb. I have found next to nothing about this carb or even a rebuild kit for this carb.

So here are my questions... Does anybody know what this carb could have came from or where a rebuild kit could be found? Does a 30mm sound to big for my 200x? Anybody have a recommendation on a good carb for the 200x?

Thanks for any help

i have a pd32A carb on my 200x. the carb came of of a xr200r dirt bike. but i thought it was a a 28mm carb. when i put my pd32A on my bike it would not idle also. do me a favor and remove the pilot screw. does the air screw have a blunt end on it. mine had the screw with the blunt end. when i put the pilot screw from the origional carb (it has a very fine point end on it) into the pd32A the idle quality went from nothing to very good.

Thanks for the reply, it seems I have the same carb as you and it very well may be a 28mm i have my doubts about what my caliper reads. I also have the blunt tip and a 115 main jet as you did, so I will use your information as a starting point towards getting this thing working right, thanks again for the thread good info on there.

hope it helps.

a one 115 main seems very light im using a 118 main in my x, and my engine is stock +a bassani pipe and 27 mm carb. with all of your mods im thinking you should start with a min of a 120 main.

there is a fantastic jetting thread in the world class help section.
