Got about eight inches on sunday, then it was ten below this morning with four inches on top as of now. I expect to have about 16 inches of dry fluff by the morning. The groomer hasn't been out here yet but has been making passes on the railroad tracks. Not enough snow for me to take my sled out yet. Nobody has gone up thepowerlines from what I've seen today.

Thats exactly why I'm mindful to never spin the tires in 1st on any sort of a technical climb. I've got my swinger off right now fabbing up a shock mount for a +3 trx swinger conversion for that very instance.
So much torque, the machine thinks nothing of it to raise the wheel on you and the auto clutch drives the getaway car. A rack and crap on it did not help your case either but was the plastic's best friend. What is that on the left of your dash?

Good riding. 2 very different weekends for sure, went from a winterwonderland to a bit muddy in one week! I was very surprised last sunday that it wasnt alot sloppier! gonna hit up the winter carnival in lake George one weekend this month. I think the 15th is when all the ama ice racing is there, so thats usually the best weekend. My one Bigred is all reg/insured in NY. they let you kind of tool around the village, lots going on, it really is a great time.

i could barely ride around on my sled today! was out about 2 hrs, think i was off the sled as much as on it! kept getting stuck! Theres an easy 20 inches of snow on the ground here, well over that in drifts in the fields!! Just a little 340 fan, no reverse! I worked my balls off, but it was still fun as hell! keep us updated on trail conditions up there in NH, cause I want to ride sooner than later!

i can speak for northern MA. Trikes are grounded for now. Theres 15 - 18 inches of loose, loose powder. i've buzzed around after each storm this season. i've got the 4snos mounted. i've been able to get around until now. when the snow got too deep i mounted a front ski i built for fun. After this last storm, that is even a no-go. snow is so light and loose. you cant stay on top of it. when you fall into it, its so deep, you're all done. maybe a little rain/freeze combo will change things, but for now it sucks up here. things are a bit different south of boston, but they're getting smoked today. i am also getting the itch.

They used to groom right from the power lines on fish hatchery and go right up all over hell hole mountain in its entirety. drove by the lines today and no groom marks, im not sure if dads is doing it this year or what the scoop is :wondering

I've never ran anything smaller than a 20 inch tire. I usually run 22 inch on my 350x and on my air fooler. I do run 20 inch on my 85 r though. It does get pretty rough at times but as long as your on your toes 200 will be fine.

These are full day rides. No lights or a skid plate is not a good idea. A bike built for the trail is your best choice.

Throw on a set of 20's if you dont have a pair, i will let you borrow a pair for the day. Skidplates are overated in my book, i dont run them on my r's...in fact i prefer riding without them. I have an extra coolant bottle if you need one, but if you have a good running machine you should be fine. Only other suggestion is 12t frt sprocket to make things easier in the tight stuff.

Hey boys, today was phenomenal. I don't think it will ever cease to amaze me how fast we go, what we climb, and how well engineered the SX is. I was so proud when every one of us today (Craig has done it before) climbed and descended that hairy fawkin hill. I looked back expecting to see a dropout or two when things got serious, and everyone else was behind me as Dan led the way. I said it today, I don't get nervous often, but I was nervous right before my dismount. That's probably why I didn't keep er upright. No matter, we all made it up and down. That was a prime example of why the SX has that granny gear as it was absolutely necessary.

On the flip side, the high speed runs through treacherous terrain is always a mind blower for me. I get into a zone and I start to wonder how many SX owners have pushed their bikes like this. Boulders bouncing off the bottom of the bike, tires spinning in muck and tearing into a razor sharp boulder as you push your weight down on them in an attempt for them to bite, shocks bottoming, and the entire machine being shaken to pieces. I feel and listen to it all in amazement of the punishment those machines can take, through water and everything. Honestly I feel like we're doing warp speed through these places and I'm really curious how our speeds would hold up to a group of quads. I feel like we'd be smoking most quad groups on average speed, but that's only how it feels. Who knows what the truth is.

Phenomenal day, phenomenal people, and phenomenal riding. Great to see everyone and thank you as always to Craigorino for his ever appreciated hospitality. My left hammie got wrenched pretty good on that semi-rollover, always the end of the day when that crap happens! Could have been worse! limping a bit today. oh,,,, no. this ain't "THAT" new hampshire ride. this is amateur hour. we were talking about the hell hole rides, which are legit. this is a new place i haven't been to yet, so we'll see. the hell hole rides ebb and flow. fall seems to pick up a bit. i'm still a relative noob to these rides but they are FOR REAL. this ride was a last minute thing but i figured i'd offer. for the real NE Rides,,,,stay tuned...

good and bad. the good is its a must see on the list. trails are sweet. good to go there till whatever date the sleds start. Awesome trail. a tiny bit rocky going from my buddys yard to the real trails, then good switchbacks and climbs. a lot of ripping through the woods with whoops. very well marked. its geared slightly for dirtbikes and has a real MX feel. sandy terrain. we rode about 15 miles when my buddy dixied off his dirtbike and broke his collar bone. it sucked. we rode back down to a parking lot where we waited while a guy went to get the truck. while waiting, a guy showed up on an 83 air cooled 300r. talked for a bit, then he took off solo into the woods. judas priest t-shirt and all. seemed like a good dude. the NH guys i was with say it gets crowded on the weekends so thats why they ride on weekdays if they can. it was only about 45 minutes from my house. i will go back.

I miss all of you guys and have done the best riding of my life with you all. I don't ride otherwise anymore. I've concentrated a lot on my trucks and toys over the last few years and my house has gone to shite, but it didn't start out that good to begin with. Got a lot of big life changes going on now, may want to sell this place if I can but it's going to be a lot of work, time, and money. I started a new job that has very long, hard days so I don't have a lot of spare time at all. I spent some coin on my DR and had my brother go through it to sort out some electrical issues that I just didn't have time for, so that's as trail ready as a Yamaha is going to be I'd say. I want to find out if I can trust it. The SX needs some love.

I do have an offer for you dual sport guys, as I know of at least two off the top of my head. I'm putting every minute of my spare time towards finishing my XR with a huge help from Steve. I'm dying to get it done because my girlfriend has a place in Vermont now that I frequent on the weekends. There are more dirt roads there than most of you are capable of imagining. I had never seen anything like it. I will be destroying those roads on my XR as soon as humanly possible. Guests could be a possibility.
