I know its missing a rear wheel but its street legal! Its a 1998 Honda XR 650L Dual Sport that I just picked up for $500, it needs a battery, new lights & signals, tires and alot of cosmetic work! Anyway just thought Id share my new project with everyone.

Nice deal! Somebody really put some money into that bike at one time. Converted it to inverted forks, silvervein powder coated frame, full FMF exhaust system, Mikuni TMX carb, cyclops headlight, super moto front fender......

not got a thread will take some pics later but theres not much to see it just looks stock apart from break lights a horn and you need to have E marked tire's. the hard part is all the paperwork and redtape you need to go through to get it registered ..

I don't see why you can't make a street legal Trike, There are Trike Kits and stuff for harleys and whatnot, just do it to a street legal Dirtbike/Enduro or something like that...Right?
Somethink like this is what i'm talking about: http://kitchener.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-touring-Classic-Touring-Bike-Trike-W0QQAdIdZ305331439
If i won the lottery i would try to get a ATC Street Legal By useing a Street Legal ATV Kit and finding a Speedo for a ATC, this is the kind of Street Legal ATV Kit i'm talking about: http://www.partsforatvs.com/default.asp?p=1369&c=751&cn=M3Q+TRX450R+BARS+&+CONTROLS

Yes you can make a trike street legal. It's been done many times.

To the OP, there is a section in the forum for bikes.

A 98 XR 650 for $500 is a good score no matter what you do with it. I keep hearing people say you can make a KDX 200 or 220 street legal. Is there any truth to that. On rocky mountain atv/mc they sell a street legal kit but i thought you can't get a 2 stroke dirt bike street legal. Maybe it's in NY that you can't.

Nice job. My personal preference would be to change those tires out for the street, sort of the super motard style. I know the tires would kill the off road riding aspect, but street tires would be a must have around baltimore for riding on the streets.

I want to find me an '86 or '87 XL-anything very badly. Sweet looking bike, for sure.
