I'm wondering about a little spring in the parts diagram that goes into the end of the driveshaft that goes into the rear differential, most of the driveshafts on ebay don't come with that spring, is it necessary? I assume it is since a thread I just looked at said the shaft is spring loaded. Could anyone also point me in the direction of a manual for a 1986 Big Red? I will need one to put the swingarm bolts and bearings in.. As soon as I get the driveshaft in and swing arm attached I can see if my Big Red runs by pop starting it..

Please try not to fool with the right angle gears that come out of the gearbox.
Never been there but have heard that some spacer/washer can drop down inside.
Contrary to popular physics, the swinger can be swapped and driveshaft r n r without messing with that.
Have fun and pls keep us posted.
What's the deal on the driveshaft?
Haven't heard of one needing to be changed.
It's amazing what they can put up with.

Well when I got the trike it had no drive shaft haha. Once I get the drive shaft and swing arm bolts and bearings in, I can finally see if it runs by pop starting it, I also need a shifter which isn't a problem.. It's in gear because every time I kick it over the shaft that connects and turns the drive shaft spins
