I've got a cdi based ATC90 motor in my 70, and want to run the headlight too. The stock bulb is burnt out (Stanley 6V 25/25) and want to replace it. What options of upgraded bulbs do I have and where to find em? Any other tricks to increasing the lighting output? Other suggestions?

Convert to floating ground, splice in a voltage reg/rec, run a small 12V battery, then a 35w HID? :wondering
Would be bad arse :naughty:
(BTW, you need to photoshop in a helmet- photos/videos without helmets are not allowed ;) )

How crazy can you afford to get? You can have your stator rewound to take a much brighter bulb. I know I have a desert light that fits an atc70 somewhere. I have them for the 90/110 and 185s and 350x front ends as well. I can't remember the lights on them. I think a couple have cibie lights and I have 1 rewound stator, but that's not for sale. I've seen people run a multiple led headlight set up that you can get off line. I've seen homemade mounts that have used aftermarket motorcycle single bottom mount headlights that weren't real bad. It's just how much you want to spend is the main thing.

Well, I like the retro look, so I cut off the ATC90 fork mounts, welded em to the 70 forks and used the 90 headlight as well. So at this point, I wanna stick with this setup, and upgrade (hopefully) the guts. I am not opposed to rewinding the stator, but probly not till winter when I don't need the pitbike. So seems I'm just lookin for a good bulb at this time. Is there simply a modern bulb to replace the old timer available, or stock it is?

If you plan to upgrade later, then I would say cheapest and easiest now to stick to stock.
Have you ever looked on the glamis dunes.com website in their 70 section? Lots of great machines and ideas for you to check out. Here's a link for you. I would advise you to join up and check out all the ideas.
