I got a 185s had it for about three years now ran perfect summer and winter 1 to 2 pulls every time with no choke at all and about 2 months now all of sudden it just quit running but I just thought the plug got carbon ed up it does that from time to time replaced it nothing??? all the wires are good replaced the coil under the tank nothing??? so I'm thinking its the coil under the stator I'll have to get the puller and try that. Cause I have a couple 70's a big red and a 250r and never had a problem with those going bad?? But is that a common problem for those going bad???

Yes, It is a common problem. I have replacement exciter coils on hand for just this problem. I have replaced well over 100 of the exciter coils over the past 15-20 years ( on different machines ). Do a exciter coil search here on the forums for more details.

P.S. John they are called exciter coils because with out a good one your motor won't have any excitement ( it won't run ). lmao
