Hey yall, when I crank up my atc I can let it idol for a long time and it never has a problem, but when I ride it quite a ways and slow down, it idols kind of high. I have adjusted the idol screw, but is that a problem and what do I need to do?

Nope, sounds good to me. Ride on.

It idles higher when it's warmed up, meaning it's adjusted with a high idle. Generally idle adjustments should be done after about 5-10 mins of warmup (riding).

How's your air filter? It will run rich if it's dirty or has to much oil on it.

Lots of times that keihin carb plunger/throttle valve etc. gets hung up. Take off the carb and see how the the parts are separate; usually a good cleaning will allow the throttle valve to lower itself and not keep the revs up.............Run the linkage and watch the plunger when you remove the 3 screws holding the cap on top.

Sometimes high idle when hot is a lean condition.... Just, finally, fixed my TTR of this problem; also had it in my old TW and KLR. One up on Pilot and main fixed it. Read the plug to be sure.
