Hey guys when I bought my big red . The guy didnt have the title, he just wrote me a bill of sale... I didnt get any paper work on the bike... He told me it was an 85 250 big red.... In looking for parts , I see that there are many dinferent 250 such as the SX, ES, etc... Is there any way You can tell what your bike is..A number or code somewhere on the bike?

Should be a tag on the steering neck of the bike, it's a 250es Big Red, there's only two honda made 250 four strokes. Looks like an 85.

Sx is sportier, has 22" tires, and is way higher geared.
Short and sweet differences.

I can get 2 sx's in my f 150 and only one big red fills the whole bed.

Sure doesn't look like it when they sit side by side.

For me?
Both elec start, faster than I'll ever need, sx's are tippier and want to be ridden whereas the b reds can be 'diven' and super stable for towing logs and brush and all that other crazy farm stuff.

They seems that same as far as power and speed etc but I know there are differences.
sx is smaller, maybe lighter and beg to be sportridden
but the b reds will also do that too.

Love 'em all which is why I (need to ) have a few of each.
