The fella I received from is unsure and I am real sure I have no clue what this small fly wheel is from.
We both think it is a Kawasaki product but for what ?
I have just spent the better part of a hour on "search" but no pictures available or at least that I have found.
I pictured it along with one of my encapsulated Tecate flywheels for reference to size.
It measures 3 1/2 inch outside to outside. Magnets have basically same placement as a stock tecate flywheel and are screwed on, but as pictured the polarities are 180 degree off (which is easy enough to change because of the screw in place idea ~ but maybe correct for the matching stator plate ?).

Much obliged for help gents. john

Looks Like Kawasaki stuff, but the plate does have 2 extra holes for placement. May have been used on multiple engines originally. Many older kawasaki engines from the late 70's thru the mid 80's had ignitions that used the same taper on the crank stub, and the stator bolt pattern would be standard placement. On many kx and kdx engines ranging from the kx60 thru the mighty kx500 used ignition systems that could be interchanged. Many were weighted for a specific application, but would work fine if set up with a dial indicator. It should be noted that the ignition in question needs to be used with a compatible cdi. Tecate stuff will NOT work with dirt bike stuff. An exact fitment may be very difficult to find.

I haven't looked at my 500 stuff for a while but going by memory I remember the flywheel (mine is an 86 motor) being tiny like that. I'm just going by memory though.

Well thanks Tecat-Z, that helps a lot with info so far. Yes, I did read the KX stuff must be matched up with cdi and coil on KX ?KDX set ups so that make perfect sence.
I wonder if by simply switching the magnets around to correct Tecate polarity would allow to work with stock cdi/coil (although I tend to think a coil is a coil, it just relies on impulse).
Hmm,,, maybe a "advanced" science fair project coming up this winter on my BLACK 84/85 T-3 build ?

Thank you Fabio. Perhaps if you get a chance to look it over this week end (and maybe take a picture or 2 ? Please) ,, just something to compare what I have up against what you have ,,,

I just went on a search out there now Johnny, and I couldn't even find the flywheel. That really sucks because I am going to need that. Time to rip the shed apart.

looks like the flywheel I have on a t3. pics in "my newest t3" thread. mine is an 83- 84 kx 250 ignition. I have the kx cdi but I bet money I could make a kxt cdi work. I will screw around and post a "how to" if anyone is interested

Oh yeah, first picture in your thread. yes, from the outside appearance it looks just like yours Ben.
Unless this flywheel has had the magnets rotated around I am positive it would not work as is, with the stock cdi. They are simply opposite of where the stock polarity flywheel magnets are.
It would no doubt still produce spark but a stock cdi would tell it to fire at the wrong time or in other words be 180 off.
If you do some tinkering around with your Ben, please be sure to post up !
