Hello 3WW. First post here as well as the first thread. Well here is the problem, my Honda Big Red I just bought from some girl ran perfectly until about 4 days ago. Me and my dad are no mechanic what so ever but we got a new spark plug because the first one looked old. When tried to put the spark plug in we didn't know that the cap on top of the spark plug was supposed to come off so my dad thought the thing inside the spark plug boot wasn't supposed to be there so he tried to get it out the boot came off the wire. I don't know how much force my dad was using but it came out without unscrewing. We put it back on and it started and ran until the next day when it would not start. I don't know if this is a lie but, my brother and cousin said they saw oil in the combustion chamber. I took a look and saw only gas. We tested the boot for spark and it shocked the **** out of me lol. Im just confused because if its getting gas and has good compression how could it not start. We tried starting fluid and that didn't do anything at all. Sorry for the long post but I paid $800 and I really don't want that to go to waste lol. Any help is appreciated. ;)

buy a new plug boot. only about 4 bucks. take of the old one and snip about 1/4 to 3/8 off the wire and screw on the new one.

Don't waste your investment by blindly attempting to repair what you don't understand!! Properly maintained and setup this machine will be able to give you years of enjoyment and reliable use!!

Find someone who is knowledgeable and qualified..even if it costs you a few dollars..

For god sake, keep that damn starting fluid away from your machine!! They should never have invented that crap!

Ok thanks for the help. I will probably just take it to a mechanic. And yes I will keep the starting fluid away
