Hey guys, just wanted to post some info about my 250r I have had for 10 years. I bought it when I was 17 and restored it. I did not know as much as I know now so I was not happy with it. It was a ported stock bore motor with a frame I should have had repaired or replaced. Now it has gone under the knife for getting it the way I like it so I ride it more often. This is a dune riding only machine. Here is whats in store.
Inverted Forks
370cc Puma Motor
New HRE Chromoly Frame
New tires
yfz450 tailight
Hinson Clutch basket with Sling-Shot lonkup clutch
Quick Change Clutch Cover
45mm Lectron Carb
Some other goodies
Here are pics with what it looked like before tearing down.

Here are some pics of the new frontend I had Jason Hall do work for me on. They are 00 CR125 shocks shortened and custom Triples with Cr125 Front Caliper and Disc. Also mounted is a 10 inch wheel from Xowner. The wheel clears the caliper pretty well. Also working on the rear tail light as we speak off a yfz450 LED.

Great trike how did you use/wire in the msd ignition because that is pretty cool and unique.

That's a good looking bike. Love the yellow. Haven't ever seen a yellow 250R so it is definitely unique. Can't wait to see it when it is finished.

It was a kit that is now discountinued. It worked well but was kind of a pain in the butt. You had to keep on top of charging the battery. So I actually just sold it and I am either going to run a modded stock ignition or I will run a cr250 ignition but I want a headlight so I am in the process of figuring out how to run a headlight with a cr250 ignition. If I can then I will run it, if not then I will run a stock modded ignition. The benefits to a cr250 ignition is that it revs quicker (due to less rolling mass on crank) and it makes a big bore motor a little easier to start. The MSD was a different setup but I was wanting something I could walk up to after letting it sit for a few months and just start it right up (without charging a battery).

Here is a pic of more parts I have gotten, I am in the middle of polishing the clutch cover (what a pain). For the clutch I am running a Hinson Basket with a hinson springs and clutch discs. Also running a Sling-Shot Lock-up clutch. I will be running most likely my 40.5mm flat slide carb for duning and then when I want to race and hill climb I will switch to the 45mm lectron. But it all depends on how my small puma cylinder reacts. 133590133591133592133593133594133595133596
