My 200s has a problem with it's recoil. When I pull the recoil it feels like it's only engaging for part of the pull. It's like it let's go of the motor half way through the pull. Has anyone else had this problem and how did they fix it.

Take it apart and inspect it. It is only 4-5 bolts, and the whole housing will come off. With the housing removed, hold it, and pull the cord, if the 3 little teeth come out when it is being pulled, you are good to go.

You probably need a new dogcage:

FITS ALL 110'S 185'S AND 200'S 1981 THRU 1983 (http://dratv.com/dcathbotofly.html)

or pawls [ Throw Out Dogs ]:

SHOULD WORK WITH ALL ATC90 110 185 200'S THRU 1983 (http://dratv.com/thoutdos2.html)

My 200s is a 1984. It looks like the dogcage is worn out. Do you have a link for a dogcage that would fit an 84

Best to email Jack at dratv.com He has the part I linked to as being for the 83-84, but the description only goes to 83.

Check how many bolt holes your cage has and maybe he can lead you to the correct part.

He is busy so you may have to allow a few days for a reply before asking him again.

I would try to grease/oil your doggs, mine did that once, the doggs werent comming out, so i greased it and pulled it and pulled and finally started working, but sometimes you just got to yank on it quick and it will grab, for your dogg cage, theres 3 doggs so 3 holes on the cage.

I was playing with the carb and I got he motor to start with the tinyest pull.
It starts everytime now first pull, so there is no need to pull the recoil all the way out 10 times before it starts.
I'm still going to look into the parts but its not top of my list now.

My clutch started slipping after doing exhaust and intake so I need to track down some clutch parts.
thanks for the help : )

Does anyone have 200s clutch parts kicking around they want to get rid of ?
