Have had a few trikes over the years but never got around to modding them or anything....had a fox body mustang I modded and raced so the atc or motorcycle engines are a little foreign to me. Did honda ever put counterbalances on any of the atc's? I have an old 81 200 and it has been rebuilt before I got it with a new crank and the works I guess but it has the typical vibration they all had. How long do they last usually with the vibrations? When I think about it I'm surprised they are so reliable without counter balancing.

I know for sure that the '85 and '86 250r's had them. Not sure about the airfoolers, but my guess is yes on them as well. No conterbalancers in the thumpers....Mainly a 2-stroke thing

Ill be darned. Well the only thumper I ever had apart down to the crank was an '86 200x but that was back in '92. I dont recall there being a balancer but it was quite a while ago. Did they run an actual separate gear driven balancer? Or was the crank balanced?? I could swear the 200x had the balanced crank, in other words, not the round crank like the Rs have.

200x's I dont believe they had one. I know for sure on the models above because I have balancers for all on my selfs. The 250sx/es dont have round cranks but they all have seperate balancer gears.
