Frame is blasted awaiting paint and I`m about to dive into my 85 project`s suspension

I`m designing and building a jig at work to add a couple inches to this swingarm (one needs a proper jig to get it straight and square)(and Yes, I`m cutting BEHIND the shock mounts to keep them in the same spot for geometry sake)

So I`m soliciting opinions on how much stretch should I shoot for....this one is gonna be setup for MX with some flattrack/TT dabbling on occasion...So I was thinking a couple inches max should be the sweet spot? Don`t want a drag trike swinger, just move the rear axle back a little.

How will this affect the spring tension/rate?

Thoughts, Opinions?

On first gens, 2-4" works well for multi use perfromance. But, any longer then 3" with a stock width machine... & the length to width ballance is compromised as both gen T-3 are very narrow. Imo, +2 on stock width machine makes em' fun........

I did +2 1/4 on mine with +5 wheel spacers. I only rode it about 5 minutes so I cant really tell you how well it worked. I looked alot better than stock though.

Well I drive mine is serious off roading. 4x4 trails. And I for one would love to build a swinger like a Tri Zs. To allow for a complete surface mount to bolt up a skid plate. Meaning this skid plate would "roll" over sprocket and disk. Not like that of the tri z. But +2 swinger is way better then stock.
