I rode my buddies atc 110 while I was out at his house wrenchin on an old dirt bike. I didn't think a whole lot about it at the time. Then about a week later I got a call from a guy on cl wanting to trade me his big red 250 for some of my stuff. We ended up working a trade out. My fiance got on it and loved it! She said "I want one". So back to craigslist i went and traded for an atc 125m. I get way to carried away with my hobbies, so when another 125m popped up for cheap i jumped on it. Turned out to be a smoker (needs rings bad), but the plastics were good so cant really complain.
While looking for a front brake cable for the 250es at 3am I happened across a klt110 roller locally with 4 minutes left and no bids. I threw a bid down basically because it had some decent tires and for $30 seemed like a good deal. Yep, anyone else impulse buy a 3 wheeler? I went and picked it up, asked the guy what happened to the motor, was it for sale. He told me he pulled it out two years ago to transplant into a quad, but never did and he had recently sold it through cl. Got it home and decided it was too complete to steal the tires and junk the rest. Posted an ad on cl for a running motorcycle engine. Only got one call and wouldn't you know it it was the guy who bought the klt 110 motor, he wanted to put it in a chinease quad, but couldn't get it to fit.
To make a long story short, i put it all back together and it runs great! I have less into this wheeler than any of my other ones, but like it alot. Seems much faster than my 125's and 110 hondas.
Which brings me to the 110 i just got (the same one i originally rode). I traded a yamaha dt100 enduro for it that was kinda beat. I got this one for my son because of its 4 down shift pattern as the 125 was 4 up and hard for him to shift(it needs some help i think, it shifts hard, or is that how the 125m 's are).
By this time I'd done alot of research, on here mostly. So when two early 90's showed up i called on them. After talking to the guy i sent out a money order. One of them was yellow the other red. When I went to pick them up at the dock, I realised that they were us90 and after searching the vin's that they were first year 70-71. Too bad all the tires were not good, but its amazing that the two rears on the one have held up so well, probably never been run on anything but grass.
So in the span of about 6 weeks i have went from no 3 wheelers to 7........worst part is i'm still checking cl religiously for the next one!
