After 2 punctures in my cheap Cheng Shin knobbies on my SX, I decided it was time to get some new tires. I couldn't decide on an aftermarket tire and didn't really want to lose the cushy ride, so I went OEM. Everything I had read said that the original OEM tires weren't made anymore and Honda was shipping Dunlops, but look what showed up....

Sweet! If those are discontinued like that, I wouldn't run it. Might be able to turn it around for some profit, and order another. And who knows, you might get lucky twice!

I wanted the original tires for my SX and also ordered a set from Honda. The only differences I can see are the date stamp and that Pro Vector isn't spelled out, but rather P/V. Nice surprise, though, isn't it?!

Yeah. I actually ordered 2 more from my local dealer the other day. Maybe they're being made again, maybe they're not, but I figured I'll do the front tire too and then have a spare. I really like the original look and feel of the trike.

Just an update on this...the tires came from my dealer and they are Ohtsu P/V 301s. So it's looking like it wasn't a fluke, and they are available again. The date code on these is X1211. I can't remember for sure, but I think that means week 12 of 2011.

Very nice tires indeed. What's the current cost thru dealer?

I think it was around $62-64 each.

Cool! I'm going to sell my SX and wanted to sell it with the correct tire. I studded one of the original tires for plowing the ice racing track like a doof. Thanks!

I just looked all over the house for my receipt and I couldn't find it, but I'm thinking they were about $60 each. Now, they're only 2-ply, but like I said earlier, I like the OEM look and feel. And I have no scientific basis for this, but it seems to me that they've got to be a bit tougher than the Cheng Shins!
