This weakend i went on a ride with a few of my friends on there quads and one with a 200x. I was riding my 110. we had been trail riding most of the day when we came to this swamp. i went first and made it through no prob. as did my buddy on his 200x. needles to say when my friend went for it on his rubicon 500 with bear claw tires he buried it up to the frnders. just goes to show that nothing is better off road than the atc!

ATCs are good at muddy terrain with the right tires, because they are light and easy for the rider to throw around..also when they get stuck you can generally get them out yourself.
A Rubicon, weighing in almost double most trikes are not so easy to man handle alone..but with four driving wheels will have more pull than your trike.
Circumstances were with you this day..but the minute you get smug, you get stuck and you look like a dope asking somebody on a quad help you out.

yes i know. i was just trying to make a point and since my friends are alwalys making fun of trikes and saying they will never go through as much as a quad i just finally got a chance to show them up.

x2 with 59gmc
Had a friend show up with a 4wd quaad.
Asked if he could run it across the pasture, just like we do ALL the time.
I kinda hesitated but he looked so offended and dejected I finally said ok.
Welp?
he got about 100 yards and all 4 buried to the axles...and a little too far for our longest tow cable.
a 90 pulled him out.
Extremely funny but we didn't dare let him see us laughing.

A Rubicon 500? I highly find that hard to believe. He must not be a good trail rider that's all. Can't be. Rubicons are golden son.

It doesn't matter how many wheels it has, or how many wheel drive it is, if you hold your speed up you will make it through. I was making do just fine with bald balloon tires in the sand on one of my trips earlier this year, but that's because I kept my speed up.

I don't say anything when I show up at an event on my trikes, I let the quad riders snicker!!
Then just let my riding and machine show what they can really do!!
The snickering usually stops after that!! But then again, I don't care..I'm there for fun, not to impress people.

Last time we had a thread like this we wound up loosing a well respected member and his young son (who was also a member)over the arguing that ensued. Every machine has its weak points and its strengths.
Jesus loves them all.

or the 'floating big red"?
I hesitate to link b/c of no helmet but both are just magical and aweinspiring.

I thought that was a 'why I have the right to not wear a helmet' thread wasn't it??
Besides, I don't really understand the relevance..no one is getting catty!!

If I recall correctly it was a thread very similar to this, but I could be wrong. You are right no one is getting catty yet. I was just saying that to hopefully head off any future disagreements over one machines superiority over another from escalating.

I wouldn't go so far as to blame the content of that thread when it was clearly the behavior of a member with a real knack for bringing out the worst in people.!!
But, I haven't seen that negative influence in some time..

Neither would I, but there is no argument that the content of the thread is what started the whole name calling process.

I punctured a tire once at least 25 miles from anything remotely resembling civilization. After pinching not one but TWO new tubes and using up all my Co2 cartridges as well as all those of my unimpressed trail mates along came a group of guys on quads. They had everything including a 12V air compressor which they were kind enough to let me use. A guy on a quad saved my bacon that day, so while I have no plans of becoming a “quad guy” any time soon I’ll remain a fan of them and their riders until such time that dirt bikes come with 12V receptacles and room for 5 gallon gas cans.
Peace to all
