He wont stand behind what he sold. I learned my lesson period, buying items not from the manufacture that are things that can go bad like electrical. I dont know if the auction said no returns or not. Buyer be ware.

His response
There is no returns on electrical parts, and no one is going to give you a
refund on anything that you purchased a year ago. I don't warranty someone
else product. It also sounds like one of the multiple places you had this
at probably damaged the product at some point.

I've been wrenching for about twenty years, and I don't know of many circumstances where somebody will allow you to return electrical parts. That's just how it goes. And you had the parts installed on a machine at one point? Absolutely not.
I don't think you should be bad mouthing this guy.

go to any parts store and they will tell you right off the bat NO returns on all electrical parts that have been installed. i might understand your frustration "if" the part hadnt been sent all over the place and wasnt a year old and if it was still in the original package. come on now

This is from ricks site. I realize I bought it thru a dealer and it may have said no returns on electrical. IDK I can not view the auction anymore. Just with anything I'm saying to becareful buying parts thru a dealer because the manufacture does not have to honored. Sorry if I cause a problem

the stator should be covered by ricks warrenty if xcbob is an authorized dealer.good luck though. I have bought a bunch of parts from xcbob and have never had an issue. You really cant exspect him to cover a part he didnt make, he just sold it.

I concur with the "no returns on electrical parts" policy that seems the norm at most places. Would be one thing if you just got it yesterday, installed it and it didn't work. But, a year later? Sorry bro, but I think you are asking a bit much on this one.....

Ricks says I have to have the original proof of purchase for the stator which I do for my transaction for xcbob but he either does or dont honor the warranty ricks has. I know for next time. This 3 wheeler build has cost me $12000 and about $1000 of it I've been screwed on. New oem long rod crank I left at the first place that did my motor witch I'm almost positive it was swapped with a used one, stator and the $600 in labor wasted for the first placed check over not to mention the complete gasket set, and honda main bearings and seals. Its a bummer.

I own a Shop, and I would not refund your money. Fact is even if I refunded your money, no one would refund me, I couldnt send it to ricks or ricky or anyone else. Its been over a year from purchase and like he stated, your email does not give me or him any faith that this problem was not created by a incompetent mechanic. Sorry brother!

Its not been a year the 22nd of nov is and I've emailed and called for 2 months and he just responded. If I would have bought it from ricks they said generally no problem. I'm done with this.

You got it ATC007. I don't doubt Pantera1975 is telling the truth. But the people who sell parts have no idea, and thanks to other less-than-honest people that are always trying to scam them, this is how they play....

Ive been there myself, and it sucks. Sometimes buying certain parts is best done right when you need them. But I understand completely where the seller is coming from. One bad electrical part can fry another one in an instant, hence no warranty on electrical parts most of the time. And since you bought it a year ago, He has no real way of knowing if you're truthful or trying to get a free replacement.
I have dealt with the seller in question, never had an issue. Maybe you can send it back to the manufacturer and get it rebuilt for cheap?

Totally agree
Ahh yes..The ebay deal gone bad.
See this is why on ebay, you can purchase a 400$ aftermarket axle for 239$ plus shipping.
Yeah you get the same part as buying from the manufature, but when it comes time for the warranty, the maker wont stand behind it and this is the reason why.
You see, guys become a distributor for say LSR axles.
They get the axles at Dist/dealer..pricing..Say 229$ each.
LSR retails them on their site or through the catalogs, for 289$ each plus shipping. Any dealer is basically under a gentlemens agreement to sell said part for retail price which is 289$ in this case.. And then Rocky Mountain or Dennis Kirk (an authorized distributor or dealer) Offers the same part for 299$ shipped. No one is kicking each other in the nutz...just to make a dollar.
Then, the ebay guy is cutting the prices so low, that the Authorized dealers cant sell or make a profit.
So basically the part maker "LSR" clamps down on warranties for their components. So you better buy it from the legit guy that will send you the warrnaty card with the part. If you want the warranty.
So when you think you are getting a deal on Ebay..You get what you pay for.

Very few, if anyone will let you return electronics , let alone one that is a year old and already been installed.

I only inquired to xc about the warranty and return policy. It was not a year old at the time and I did know at the time if there was a warranty offered thru him. I strictly asked by phone, email and thru other auctions on ebay he had. Never gota response til I sent a email being a real dick about it. Then the next day he responded no returns. That was all I needed to hear. I should have been more careful.

Hey. It was worth a shot. But I don't see the need to badmouth the guy.
Lesson learned here for all of us as Mosh has pointed out. The cheapest price is not always the best route.

Watch out for TimSr aka LeadbootUSA on ebay. If you contact him a year after you bought parts from him that a 3rd party installed, he won't stand behind them either.
