Assume I know nothing.
I barely keep them going.

But have had a few with non stock mufflers and there are a few serious considerations.

Forest service approve spark arrestor an issue for you?
decibel noise compliance an issue for you?
Those are usually required for off road public lands.

and then my favorite is how much do you like jetting a carb?
There really is no magical formula from what I've heard.
Maybe the search key works?

If it was me, I'd find someone who has put on "X" muffler on the exact machine and see what jets they had to go to.

Not to rain on the parade but by the same token, a nice cam and new exhaust sounds like fun.
There are quite a few options for the 200 but some folks have had them
apart for days with a 'simple' muffler change.
Oh, and if you go near the head bolts, be super all the way careful.
Start spraying them now and maybe invest in a 3 dollar nut splitter from harbor freight.

They can be stuck real good and feel like they're unscrewing
but the studs are really twisting off at about the same torque.

Are you serious? COBRA of all makes make a exhaust for the 200??!!?!?!, I do myself have a cobra muffler on my 200s, but its from a 225DX... it had to be modded with a new mounting bracket and shortened.
I would absolutly LOVE to have a matching Header for it.
Can you tell me what page of the book and what book its in for royal distributing ? I've tryed looking for an exhaust system for mine but it doesnt list the ''s'' model.

I see the 2011 cat is missing some exhaust parts. The only one now is kimpex it is only for the 250 es

An aftermarket 200x exhaust will fit on other 200 model`s ? Like say the 200s or just a plain ole 200 from 83. Do they fit on the outside of the frame and under the rear fenders, Or do ya have to hack up the fenders ?

nooo 200x header will not fit since it takes a 45 right after the motor, the 185/200 exhaust goes straight out the back in the middle 200x is off to left

ebay has a few available right now, i am looking too, or debating what to do about mine. It leaks where the two pipes come together.
