Your best bet is to first have money set aside, and ready to spend at a moments notice. Sometimes hard to find stuff pops up and ya got to pouce! Otherwise, if ya can't find something, ask around here. Often times people have parts stashed for whatever reason, such as trade bait, or a way to generate capitol for a future project in the form of sales, or simply keeping good used parts for someone involved in a project machine like yours. Ebay is of course, still one of the best avenues for parts acquisition if you're patient and ask clear questions before commiting to buy. Sometimes i make a list of "must haves". They take priority over easily obtained current, or common used items.

Nice score and from the sound of it the price was right. Looks like it got ridden a few years then just parked. Hopefully all it needs is a carb cleaning and a change of all fluids to get it running minus the pipe.

The cheapest place I have seen a new exhaust is this site
http://www.atvoverstock.com/Browse.aspx

New shrouds and air filter cover for cheap would be through DC plastics. Here's there website.
