it appears to be a rear rack off of some kind of ATV
i haven't quite seen one like that.
it only looks like a rear rack because of its size and the bars around the edges.
take a look and you will see what im saying

It looks very close to the brush guard we just put on my buddy schneeds 250es, but its different... On the one shown the oil drain hole isnt there and it doesnt bolt to the rear footpeg bolt like schneeds

no i wouldn't say it's not a brushguard. i think no one is totally positive just yet. i know i'm still looking anyway. i want to say it could be for a 200 maybe, but i really don't know.

i hear what your saying, but basicly every brush guard i've seen on here has that top bar around the edge.

ok don't know the brand this one is, but here something very close to it on scottzj's BR. check the 2nd post, looks almost exactly the same, but some small differances. i'm going to say it's a brushguard and even go out on a limb to say it probibly is for a 250es. :beer

ohhh, i see. is it like a skid plate that goes under the trike somewhere?
where does it go?
to me a brush guard is a front bumper for trucks. lol

i think that is for the 200 models as the 200's have four bolts per foot peg and the 250 has 2 that are horizontal not vertically mounted

you arent alone!I was trying to picture it,thinking wtf...haha
I think zoomerman is right, ATCcountryboy you may have to attach some angle iron on it in order to bolt it to your footpegs. That way you will not need spacers. Hopefully the front motor mount is the same height as the 200s. I do not think it will be much of a problem making it work. ..... After studying a few of the 250 i am not sure how low the front bar will be it should be in line with the front shifter so that trees to not grab it and bend it. Perhaps this one will be too low.

so should I buy it or not? All I have is a 250. I have been looking for a brush guard for a LONG time. Well...all the news I'm hearing makes me disappointed.

yeah that's what got me thinking it was for a 200 maybe, guess i was wrong to correct myself saying 250 then.
IMO, just either buy it and resell, trade for one you need, modify to fit or just build your own. :beer
edit: when i say modify i mean make some kind of bolt-on adapter or something. that way later if you sell it it'll still be stock original for a 200, but that's just me. it's yours if you get it, so weld away if you want on it.
I wish i knew someone with a 250, i was not thinking of mounting mine till summer, who knows maybe i will wade out there and see how it looks.... trying it out in 2 feet of snow to see how it works will be a problem though. I would not like to see an unsatisfied buyer from me though, so i would say do not buy it.

so they are like nerf bars then?
Jon Boy
12-07-2011, 10:22 PM
yeah, but mainly it's meant for keeping brush, vine and the like from hooking your toes and pulling your feet off the pegs or smashing your feet into the pegs. after riding to my buddy's "secret" fishing hole i'm ready to make some for myself.
Extremely rare to find. Hardly any of the trikes came with them on. If they would of came as standard equipment all the original fenders would still be intacted.

I think most people call them nerf bars. I have a set of them on my 1984 200es. The only thing that looks slightly different from mine is the front mount attach point.

I cannot believe someone had two brand new ones sitting in their porch. One still had the original mounting hardware. They had them for sale as atv rear racks, and got really pissed at me when i said they where brush guards for a 35-40 year old atc.
