Does anyone know what this coil is about? It says "Power", High Performance Ignition Coil on it and I'm assuming isn't stock. I am getting resistance between the 2 terminals, but getting nothing through the plug wire and either terminal. Any clue what is up? The plug boot just slips on too? Never owned a 250R and trying to get this one back together.

plug boot im guessing you mean the part the spark plug pulgs in to? that usually screws into the wire. and not sure on how to check the coil.

Well, the boot just pulled off the wire. I initially thought it was all one piece and that it was why I wasn't getting spark. I'm going through the service manual and found this discrepancy so far, so I'm just curious before I start going deeper into the electrical system of this thing.

The plug and coil should screw onto the wire. Make sure the clip inside the plug is still there if not get a new one or make sure the nipple is still on the spark plug and not just a little threaded post there. As for the coil ive never seen that brand but ive never looked for it either, stock performs just fine for me. I would cut a small length off each end of the wire then clean any small wires out of the plug and coil where it screws on too and then screw the coil and plug end back on and try it.

I took the wire off the coil and cleaned it, have good continuity through the wire. I am getting no contact through the boot, and still nothing through the secondary coil (out the plug wire). I'm thinking the coil is shot, as well as the boot...
