Hey ya'll, I posted about this not long ago in the Newbie section and didn't get much response. But I was wondering if any of ya'll knew anything about the 300 cylinder for the 250r. My buddy gave me a parts bike and the motor had this cylinder and head on it, but was missing the piston, rings, and rod. Does all of the stock stuff match up with this cylinder- the gaskets, spark plug wire, exhaust and anything else I might have left out? Or can somebody just tell me more about it. How much more power can I expect? Stuff like that.

Thanks,
Brian

I think the exhaust flange might be the same size as stock, but the head gasket is definitely different, as its a 7 bolt head (the big give away) - if I remember correctly, where stock is 6 bolts. Connecting rod should be same, unless someone has stroked it. Piston and rings would be for the 300 kit (something like 76mm bore??)

Thanks for that info. I'd still like a little more input if anybody else knows about these. I have been told they are sorta rare. I don't know, but I haven't seen another one or heard many people talking about them. Somebody's got to know.

Well, maybe they aren't that rare. I looked on Ebay and saw a piston and rings for around $150 shipped.

The 300 hondaline top end kit was made to bolt right onto the stock bottom end, didnt have to change the con rod or machine the cases or anything. The kit is somewhat rare, but not extremely, and a lot of people look for them, but not rare at all compared to the Mugen 360 kits. You should have a top end gasket kit for that cylinder, piston kit, exhaust flange, and larger main jet for stock carb, or larger carb and performance pipe to make that top end work the way it should. The cylinder can be bored out a few sizes, and oversize pistons are still obtainable. Hope this helps. ----- Jon

Thanks for all that info. I'm gonna try to get some pics up tonight. I don't know if it has been bored or not, but I'm sure it has been ported. I'm gonna take it and get it measured soon. I've got both the flanges and the reeds, but I don't have the piston, rings, or rod. It needs honing, but after that I hope to start geting the parts for it. About how much quicker can I expect it to be?

I've also got to go through the bottom-end, but really I am considering just buying a decent used one that I can just about bolt straight on. Anyways, once I get the kids to bed I'll try to post some pics. Keep the info coming.

Oh yea, somebody said a 38mm Airstryker would hook it up. What about that?
