ive done a few dirt bike tires the first one i did i put them on a slight angle because thats what it said on thumper talk.com but the next tire i was lazy and put them straight into the knobbys and they stayed in longer and had better grip and grip on ice with 2 wheels is way more important than on a trike one cool trick you can do if you just whant to have fun (not race) on ice with a trike is not to put any studs in the center of the front tire or the rears you will only have grip when turning but you can realy get it to spin by turning hard at high speed turning the bars straight and holding the clutch

From my experience you have to ride it before you index them. I don't know how you could just say it's gotta be one way without even riding it. You have to find out how much traction you have before you know which way to adjust.

What Steve is saying does make sense though.
