Question on reverse

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way i could add a reverse feature to my 1980 185 ATC. Any ideas? ho do big reds back up?

I did this on my bike, it works really well.
After you come to a stop, you put your feet on the ground. Firmly push, your atc should travel in the reverse direction. It you did not move the desired distance repeat.
If more speed is desired try this facing uphill.

For real, the only way I really see this happening is with a new engine. If you find a atv engine with the reverse feature already in it then put it in your atc.
Unless someone else knows something I dont, adding it to your current engine would require a lot of transmission work and a engineering degree.
Of coarse you could look into a bike with reverse in it from the factory.

Sell it and buy a big red 250 or sx250. they have reverse. Now thats easy
