for a tri z your best bet is to get a pair of 20-11-8 tires 20 inch tires are the best for tri z 250 three wheelers 18 inchers are to small i think you would be happy with a set of 20 inch holeshots on the back and a 23 inch tall front tire.

Personally, I much prefer 22" on the TriZ, except on MX tracks where Ill settle for 20". The way the Z sits with its high front end, and the weight to the back, taller rears help in handling. Ive still got the stock 25" in front, but have the forks slide way up in the clamps.

Before I got rid of my Z I found the hot ticket is the 86 Z front tire (23 incher vs 25 on the 85) with 20 inch tires on the rear. I picked up a set of raptor hubs so I could run yamies 9 inch rims (4x115) and had a set of fast trekkers on it. Here's a pic of how it looked.

The mounting brakets are made by powermadd and the hand guards are acerbis mx flag lights. I bought both through denniskirk.com. To use the handguards with that mounting kit you need to drill the mounting holes out some since the mounting bolt is a larger diameter. I like the mounting kit but wasn't impressed with the mx flag lights (to small), if I was to use that style hand guard again I'd get the acerbis flag's, they're a bit larger (I've had good luck with these guards on my snowmobile). The total cost for either guards and the mounting kit is about $50.

On my tri-z, which is listed under operation tri-z, you will notice that I have stock 400ex tires on banshee rims. The tires are 20/10/9 ohtsu (mostly used on 250rs), but work quite well on the tri-z, I also have a 23 inch front too.
