View Full Version : 250R fork oil..13.56oz per fork leg or both??????????????

I am changing my fork oil to Bel Ray 15 wt fork oil. I now have 5 wt oil in them and want to change it to a thicker oil just to see what difference I will notice. The clymer manuel says the fork oil capacity is 400cc or 13.56 ounces. I can never remember if that is per fork leg for a total of 27.12 ounces in both. Or if it is 13.56 ounces total with 6.78 ounces per fork leg. I think it is 13.56 per leg. I am getting ready to go drain them now . There is also a measurement of 7.3 inches with the forks collapsed. So I guess it will be obvious when I refill them.

My 1987 250SX only took 6oz. per fork tube...so I say your figure is a total.

Yes it is just as I thought.. 13.56oz per fork tube.
