Your too late I sold what was left of one bought for the top end this summer. Those things are a hot item and they are know for starter issues I don't know how many calls I got about the starter bindix the are disscontinued from honde or are real expensive cause that's one thing every body asked me about. They are out there but the one i found for sale arn't cheap. I found the one i got at a garage sale for 350 it had starter issues but ran and after dissasembling the engine it had a aftermarket carb, cam and piston it was a good score.

Pardon my ignorance, but is this what guys are using to build their Ascot 500x using a 350x bottom end?

There's no way that hacked up street bike is worth $2000.

No xr engine yet. Ninja was going to hook me up, but needless to say that won't be happening.

And NO WAY is this bike being turned into a trike(yet, LOL).

Well I drove 11.5 hours last weekend & picked this one up for 5clams, It's in decent shape & has only 9k miles on it. I've o/hauled front & rear brakes, still need to o/h petcock & shorten the shifter that's on the bike, the ascot uses a linkage type shifter, & it pivots on a post at the curve of the frame, by the peg. The tab's broken off, so the P.O. just used what he had, my heel is on the peg when shifting, so I'm gonna shorten it.

That's a pretty sweet machine for 5 bills. I know you've been hustling to get everything straightened out to get it rideable again. Best of luck.
