Usaully when buying things i have a pretty good idea what they are worth. A few minutes ago i ran across a 1971 SL70 that has been stored for the last 30 years. It is complete, but i have not seen pics of it yet ( Most likely this would be a buy than see type deal). The owner said to make an offer and he would drive out to his brothers to pick it up for me.

What would be a good fair offer in your minds?

Man, its hard to say with knowing so little about it. Does it run and what kinda shape is it in? If all is good and you were thinking $200 and he was thinking $600 see if he will meet you in the middle at $400. That was just an example as Im really not sure what these are worth in any condition but check some classified adds on search and see if you come up with anything. Good luck!

It hasnt moved in 30 years, but has been stored inside. it definatley doesnt run but i figured it would be a good little project since it doesnt take much room and i have a bunch of honda 70 parts laying around.

I have no ideal what these are worth and was thinking of offering $100. But then i searched through Tempest and noticed they were for sale 1K + ( but these were all runners). I also went to a couple of other sites and saw restored ones for sale 5k+. Of course this is what people are asking, but doesnt mean they are selling at this price.

I told him earlier that i will pay him a fair price. That i am not trying to undercut him. So i dont want to offer a $100 and he pull up a C/L ad and see 1k....... Then again, i dont want it to be the other way around either.

It has been a couple of hours and i have not heard back from him, so i am guessing he is researching just like me. lol

Here's one that sold in Maine on 12/20 for 589.00.
Doesn't say if it runs or not.

When you say you have 70 parts, I hope you are aware that atc70 parts and sl or xl 70 engine parts are different.
