Honda 250es Question

How many gears does the 1985 Honda 250es big red have i just got it going and it only goes to 1st and 2nd and does anyone know where i can find a front fork with good shocks on it for sale!

Its a 5 speed.

Neutral is all the way down.
Reverse is down from there with the cable pulled in.

5 up is 1 thru 5.

Is the shifter loose on the shaft?
Is the shifter hanging up on the case? Seems obvious but I missed it too.

Good oil?
Clutch Adjustment ok?
will it sit still when idling in gear and then take off when you hit the throttle?

Any other info you can think of?
