Look around, you can get taperd bearings for it and do away with the ball bearings

If you go on ebay and type in tri z bearings you will find the taperd kit with seals.

You can get them from any yamaha dealer. When I rebuilt my Z i dropped like 6 of them little balls and couldn't find them. I went to the dealer and they were really cheap probably around 50 cents a piece, maybe a buck.
They are 1/4 inch ball bearings and run about 80 cents each. You need 19 of them.
Last I heard of the tapered bearing kits, one guy could not get the top race to seat properly and that caused his upper tripple to raise up about 1/4 inch and he was not able to get the headlight guard to bolt on properly. I never tried the tapered kits myself.

^^I'd have to check but I think the last time I bought them they were over a dollar per ball. They are tuff to work with so use grease on the race to hold them in place. Dollar for dollar I'd go tappered bearing(I have both) and like the feel of the tappered style JMO. Mosh you can see soon enough which one you prefer when we break in the motor. The set I curently run are in my 200X and impressed me enough to buy them for the Z build I'm curently working on....so I guess I'll see about the fitment soon enough...1/4" sounds to me he didn't punch the races out before pressing the tappered bearing.

The upper bearing race for the allballs kit will stick up a bit out of the neck with the old ball bearing race removed. Mine works fine and had no problems with the headlight guard.
