I build Airboats and Lycoming Aircraft engines and very familiar with Av-Gas. Av-Gas will not seperate like automotive fuel will. It also will not have that flat smell that old automotive fuel will have. Small piston powered aircraft will sometimes sit for months at a time before they are flown unlike cars that are driven every day.You will have no problem with it if you need to store it for a few months.
i worked in the aviation feild before i took my current career which is in the oil industry (yes i make av fuel, rocket fuel and even the fuel the shuttle uses). it will not loose anything until 18 months after process, which usaully is around 13 months for normal buyers. but there can be alot of factors averaged in. has it been opened to atmosphere what is the temp of the storage and what are you storing it in. metal will destroy a.v. fuel quicker then a senthetic/teflon storage tank. now if you are using the fuel in something non a.v. then the fuel will work a very long time after the 18 months. i am not sure how long but it is definatly alot longer. if you are using it in a plane then i would stick to the 18 months because you do not want to take any chances.

It lasts longer than regular gas, just keep it sealed.

Ive heard of people using AV gas in their home generators, because after sitting for up to a year they still start and run fine.
