Sad. At least you got the parts back. Hopefully the guy who bought it will lead the police to the thief's. I had a neighbor who got his KX 250 stolen found 6 months later when the second buyer tried to register it.... Had more go fast goodies on it then when it was stolen. Either way the buyer led the police back to the thief.

Well think about the good news: you have your toy back and now you get an opportunity to strip it of the f***ers grimy disgusting and pathetic fingerprints ;)

That more than pisses me off (not that you got it back lol) but for someone to steal something as precious and vintage as a trike and a 350x at that and just ruin it within a months time, Paint it all black and somehow lose the parts and seize an engine.. If someone stole a good trike from me (my almost running 185s I wouldnt be heated as my 200x or 250r) I would burn their house down and I am not kidding what so ever. To ruin a marvellous piece of engineering. Not even only trikes, I am not much of a car guy but if someone stole a rare vehicle or something of the like and trashed it would be just the same. Now, if someone stole my PS3, 46" HDTV (even though I traded it for the 200x lol) ALL my games and everything else I have, oh well, they are not rare and highly regarded like a trike, car, guns, or something like those...

awesome news man. :beer

sad it got parted and molested, but better than nothing for sure. please invest in some kind of security system, motion lights something. anything really. home owners insurance cover it? or they not covering cause you need a seperate policy for it? (that's what happened to me) unless you claim it for yard use (like pulling a wagon to pick up sticks and trash).

as for getting restitution from the offender for damages, make a list of everything it's gonna take to rebuild it and i mean list everything. parts, shipping, time/labor for the work and towing/storage if it was towed and impounded. find out who you need to send it to, should be the state's attorney office for your city though. good luck :beer

Matrix: i hear what your saying and i did feel like that when i had my 125 stolen, but i'll be damned if i'm going to jail for someone elses criminal deed.

Congrats on getting it back. Too bad about the shape its in though. This is why you should get to know as many people as possible. I can travel anywhere within my county and almost everyday run into someone that I know some how. I grew up with some of the worse people around so I know exactly who to go to when s**** hits the fan to get answers. About 7 yrs ago someone broke into my parents house and took some things. Most importantly my 3 gold w/ diamonds state championship wrestling rings from high school. With in 2 days mom calls and says that they know who it was. Knowing what I would do she refused to tell me, so I asked to talk to dad who is all for given a** whoopins for these types of things. He says an old buddy of his seen the kid, who yes I did grow up with by the way and told him that he can hand them over now or 1. Jim (my dad) will find you and shoot you or 2. James (me) will find you and knock your head off you shoulders, so needless to say he gave them to him. I didnt care either way, he was getting his. So knowing that he was at a junkies house, I scrambled up my boys (no one messes with these boys) talk to a deputy sherriff (who I know). We let him know what the plans were and he said, "ok, just call us when your done." Well needless to say there were kids sleeping in the house therefor I couldnt go get him and he refused to come out. It really pissed me off as he sat on a couch mearly 15 ft from me laughing as he rolled a joint.

hey at least u got it back. thats rare a lot of the times.

my buddy had his XR650 stolen a little while back. kid walked into his backyard and rolled it away down the road, then his buddy came and they threw it in the truck and took off. they finally found the bike thrown over a bank and stripped of tons of parts. he got it back now and is working on rebuilding it. he is also getting money back slowly as the kids can pay it. really sucks that these idiots r out there...

You CANNOT leave your stuff out for the public to see it.

Some thief will see it or follow you and then figure whether or not it's worth the risk......
