I have question on yamaha tri z fuel pump, it started and ran fine before, but it sat for 3 months and
now it wont start. if i blow in the line off the cylinder will that push gas through the pump?
Or is there a way to prime the fuel pump because there's no fuel in the line past the pump to the fuel petcock. thx

blowing in the line will not do it... it needs a pulse.. in and out,, to work.... try kicking it for a min... to prime the pump then tip it on 2 wheels for a sec.... other than that no there's not . thats kinda the nature of the beast with tri-z after they sit.

I routed the tank breather line up by my handle bars, if you blow in that it will push gas through the pump to the carb,, at least it does on mine. I did notice that if the petcock on the pump is off I can still blow gas through:wondering: So I obviously have some issues, but no leaks and it runs good so I haven't messed with it yet. I did rebuild the pump not to long ago too.

you can get a mikuni repalcemant pump or rebuild your pump delicately

I hated that my tri z would never start after sitting. I got 2 t fittings, put one on each end of the fuel pump routing, then installed a primer. Nothing worse than kicking your brains out after leaving your z for a week.

Got her going :)
I took my air hose off the compressor and slowly blew air in the line going from the tank to the handlebars. I watched the fuel go into the carb. First kick she was up and running :)

Thx
