i know nothing about these other than they look cool as heck, and are somewhat rare. i figured it was worth the hundred! it is missing the carb, kicker, and muffler! if you see anything else that is missing let me know! i would love to redo this sometime!! looks all original, plastic is dingy, but ca be brought back somewhat! if the motor is no good(its locked) i may try to put something else in it, but id rather not have to hack the frame at all! Tranny seems fine! I would like to find the parts that are missing, and get it going at least! if you are into these feel free to give me your thoughts and advice. thanks

Missing sidecovers, missing taillight, missing front sprocket cover. The bw200 was known for having the ignition system failing. Keep your eyes open for deals on all the ignition parts. Also make sure you clean the engine thoroughly and check the right side clutch cover at the kicker shaft, they are known for cracking and leaking and breaking apart there. If the transmission is good, that means if it's locked up, it's probably the rings from sitting. You can always put wd40 and all those goodies down the spark plug hole and try to free the engine up. Check your engine oil level. You can always change out the oil if it's bad just to get as much water out of the lower end if possible. Don't hack the frame for another engine.

How hard is it to find ignition parts!! i know there is some other missing stuff! just figure i would work on getting the nessesities before cosmetics!! any other yami 200 engine parts interchangable? does the 200 and 350 share any parts??

I believe the XT225/TTR230 motor is a bolt in. I have read a few threads about this but I cant seem to locate them now. Nice find by the way!

Nice score Rory, damn man! I wish I could find deals like that, my old man is always saying how he wants a big wheel and i never find deals like that.

Considering the costs associated with making it a runner, deal may not be the word. Parting it out might garner enough bank to buy one in better condition.

parts are cheap if you enjoy the hunt!! and the work is all fun for me!! i wouldnt anticipate dropping more than a few hundred into it!

Yes and after you drop a few hundred in to it, you know what you have, when you go out and buy one, your always taking chances. I picked a 1985 BW200 over the past summer, it was missing a few parts and smoked pretty bad. But since then I have rebuilt it and slowly gathered up most of the missing parts. And I probably have more into it than I could sell it for, but I would do it all over again.
