i know ive read that you can put bw front forks on a atc to make it suspended my question is can i use the bw 80 forks and triple clap and steering stem also or dose everything have to be made. i can get a set of just bw forks but want to know what else i can get to make it suspended in the front? any detailed discription would be great.

I tried a search and got a database error, but look at KASEY's posts... he built a 70 with BW front forks on it. I know it was not a bolt-on deal.

ight awsome. so your gonna make triple claps upper and lower with bar mounts and a steering stem and figure out what bearings to use and all that stuff? a buddy of mine has the forks so i wanna know if i should buy them or not. to make it easyer pm me with some info.

ok guys,,,, the problem is the bw forks are to short for the atc neck,,, you will only have 3.5 inches between the forks and the llower triple calmp,,,, unless you gull wing both triple clamps for clearance ,,, or find a longer set of forks.

so find diff forks but keep the triple clamp from the bw? and those will bolt in? what forks pw insted? or am i wrong compleatly.

Hey Kasey!
First off, you build some bad ass bike! I was gonna seek you out here soon, I want to make some triple tree's for these 70's.. my original thought was crf 70 forks, but then thought they maybe too long. Then I saw a few posts with guy's using the bw80 ones. What do you suggest? I saw your resent build has cut down 185's? anyway thanks in advance, you seem to be one of the authorities on these bikes.

the 70 neck is like 2 inches taller than a pit bike and thats where you lose your fork length.. if your going to build a full suspension frame you can use longer forks,,, if your going to put them on a hardtail you need to be short because it will raise the front to much and make it harder to ride.

i'm thinking hard tail... at least for now.

SO SET ON YOUR 70... feels good huh???? now get a 4x4 and put under the front tire... feels FUNNY HUH??? i added front suspension to a hardtail... but its way longer than stock,, to make up for the extra height,,,, see?

will do, gonna start playing around with this tomorrow... you mentioned gull wing the triples in an earlier post... not following you here. do you mean curve the triples away from the bike? thanks jason

curve them down so you gain some height to level the bike back out because the bw 80 forks are tooo short.
