I am going to look at a 250ES with a plow. Wondering how much the plow sweetens the pot. I never see them for sale so I thought maybe they were rare. Thanks.

I got my 250es last summer for the great deal of $1000. Condition was excellent and it too came with a plow. Since my driveway is about 60ft long and I have a snowblower I removed it and sold it to a friend for $225. So I figure I got my excellent condition all original 85 250es for $775..SWEET!!

At the time the generally accepted going price seemed to be around $300. However, supply and demand is king. Throw it out when there is 2 feet of snow on the ground and you probably see close to $400-450 if the kit is complete(hardware, tire chains..) and in good condition. Little or no snow like this year..less!!

At a time when everyone in my region is dumping their snowmobiles for a song..I wouldn't expect a high dollar!!

Plows don't show up on ebay often. I have only come across a couple. 300-500 is about right depending on condition as dougspcs said.

I have bought 2... I paid $260 for a piece of crap, then I paid $100 for a nice one, but missing the hardware. If the seller knows what he has and it's nice, I could agree with the others, right around $300-$400.

$300 to $400 is the going rate for the ones I have seen.

so i bought the Big Red. its an '85 250ES with the plow.

runs great, shifts through the gears, and the rear diff is good too. plastic is all rough, needs brake work, has a new plastic tank, all tires r good, and the plow is in really good shape. it is all rusty, but not bent or broke anywhere. i am going to sand blast it and powder coat it.

got it all for $600. i didn't think that was too bad since all tires r good, both racks r there and good, has a clean K&N filter, starts right up, runs and shifts with the plow.

anyone else that has a plow could u please take some close-up pics of how it bolts to the 3 wheeler? i just wanna make sure the one i got is correct and not modified. also how do u stop the plow from tipping one way or the other?

the foot peg mounts are simple enough... the engine mount one should be on the right side of the frame(when sitting on it) on top of the motor mount, but under the bolts(obviously lol)
I'll get a pic in the morning if nobody else posts one. Sounds like you got a real good deal, congrats!

$600 is a hell of a score in my neighbourhood...even without the plow.

Here is a link to a thread from a couple weeks ago. I posted pics for another member because his came unassembled. We are making assumptions that your plow is a Cycle Country..

Mine looks a bit different then those. The plow has a vertical handle. Like a wheel barrow. Also the springs behind the blade go from the bottom middle the "V" upward to the back of the blade. The frame is square tubing.

I found this walk-around video on YouTube. The guy has 3 walk around videos of his bike with the plow setup. This link is for Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utwARpn0YUk

He's also got a bunch of good videos of himself actually plowing with his Big Red.

Probably not a Cycle Country then..my pics won't do you any good then.

Still a good score!!
