ok so I bought a 250sx and it starts rite up n runs everything works but sounds like its knocking in topped any suggestions on what it could be thanx alot

it may be the valves. get a book and it will tell you how 2 do it ...or the timing chain is loose .... but the book will help with whatever it is yhats wrong.. good luck.

your honda shop may still be able to get 1 but check e bay...

Ok thanx I tried to download the service manual but wont let me look at it so I try eBay for the book thanx

that motor is prone to cam failure from not oiling.mine did it and cost me a cam and a head. www.oscarmayer.net/atc/manuals/ try this site for a manual.

great so Prolly not a cheap fix have to dig in to it n see why cant it be like my other trikes everything on the sx it weird I had to clean carb n idk why they come up with something like that and oil line running to top end they just couldn't leave it simple well thanx for the info have to dig in to it n see what the problem is

well I pulled the little valve cover off n it looks like the top end is dry pulled the oil line off n no oil was pumping through

ive downloaded it but only have internet on phone n it wont let ne look at it idk why not but I ordered book on eBay thanx

Parts sold to you. Good luck with everything. And yes you have to put cam gear in and you need to look down and make sure everything is where it needs to be. You won't have enough room while in the frame.

ok im gonna pull motor out tomorrow n get it up on work bench n order a gasket set then go from there get this baby running good be riding it at trike fest

Hell yea! Sounds like a Plan. Cam and cam gear was in very nice shape also. I have it packed in foam cutouts. Hardware is there also. TORQUE TO SPEC
