got my 2 tires i ordered in , they were strapped together so tightly there almost flat , making them a pain to install , this was my solution . gonna let them sit like this for a couple days . anyone have any better ideas ? the front max has a couple cans of brake cleaner sideways and a ratchet strap around , the duro has some sideways ratchets and a ratchet strap around , before this the beads were touching on both tires.

What Ride-Red said! I see your from the north, not too warm this time of year so ya cant set them out in the sun to bake for a few days. Wood stove is the best option, and what you got going on there to spread the beads apart. Oh yeah... Patients. lol

Get the tire's on the rim and then put a big ratchet strap ( I use a 2''), put some soapy water around the the bead so the tire will roll onto the rim alittle easyer then try and pump it up. If the tire doesn't want to seal up to the rim you can tighting the strap up some more then try and push the rim into the tire (push it one way then try and push it back from the other side) Sorry for any bad spelling.

Man, I've seen some OHTU's ALL flattened out! Cheaper to ship but more trouble for the buyer.......

yea kinda chilly , very weird winter this year though . gonna bring em inside tomorrow and let em sit for a while . i tried just the ratchet strap while they were on rims but just could not get them to spread .thanks for all the suggestions.

You have to use the lock on air chuck and bounce them while placing pressure on the other "open" portions with your arms/hands. Sometimes you just flip it or rotate it a bit, bounce it down and suddenly it grabs. I've had some I messed with for 15 minutes and that one hit does the trick :beer

ether and a flame. they mount and seat real fast that was a good trick and I have done it many times but now with the v.o.c compliant crap,it lights about as fast as diesel fuel. Ok a lil faster but useless to mount a tire

My friend and I just used ether for my ice tires on my zilla. Worked amazing and instantly!!

If you inflate a tube in the casing and then put it somewhere warm would it give a more uniform shape when it comes to fitting?

I have a solution to this that works 100% of the time..

Tire shop!!! I'm not busting my knuckles, wasting an hour, or potentially exploding a tire in my shop for $5.00 a tire with new valve stems.

this is the most extreme I ever had to do but it worked and I did not use ether, once you get one bead on, just put it on a milk crate and push the rim through to seat the other, but you have to get one on first.

I hate when they do that. I've got a set of Dirt Dogs that I bought back in the late 80's that were permanently misshapened by being smashed flat. Still bulged out and out of round.

Just had a pair of turf tamers mounted on a wide set of rims, I took it to a tire shop that had a Cheetah tank. They pull out the valve core and give it a quick blast with the tank, pops them right on.

I have a new Cheng Shin setting in the house right now warming up and "reshaping itself". Bring the tire in to warm up and set the rim outside to chill. Seems to make the tire slide onto the rim easier I think. My local tire shops want $10+ to mount one atv tire. I'm a cheap scape and enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of mounting my own tires. The rachet strap method helps and also using dishwashing liquid help get them to pop on the bead. Just make sure to have some safety shades on because dishwashing liquid burns like a beotch in your eyes!

exactly , im cheap , im on a college budget and i enjoy doing things myself , it feels much more rewarding in the end through all the swearing and busted knuckles to see something you put together .

At the tire shop I work at we usually just mount them then cheetah the beads to get them to go. But we have also used the ether trick and we have heated them up
