killer news for 1986 and 1987 kawasaki tecate owners

Called DC plastics today and talked to the guy about a tank shroud cover because my trike needs something ( it has aluminum shrouds that the previous owner made ) and he informed me that they have a oem set and are in the process of making a mold now. I told him I would pay 300.00 bucks for a set right now and he said they have too many other projects to complete first. He promised me that they are definately doing it and the retail on them should be around 60.00 a set...wtf...did I hear that correctly. I gave him my name and he said they are about 3 months out. He also told me that they will be available in black, lime and white which I will definately get a pack of each color. I tried to bribe the guy to see if he would move any faster on em but he said relax because they are definately going to make them. Maybe if a few people contact them regarding this without being too pesky they may produce em sooner, either way I am relieved because I have heard from too many people that say they can get em but when you flash the cash they clam up. Another thing ... I am not a patient mofo so I am still looking for some oem or repro shrouds asap and I will pay 200.00 if they look new...Until then lets hope DC plastics solves a lot of problems for the tecate guys and girls out there ....

Now we just need someone making gas tanks ...

A member here makes re-pro shrouds. They r perfect. I got a set from him. I really can't remember his name.... Hornetpowersports or hornetpowersport maybe??

I didnt clam up at all. I told you it will take a couple days to hear back from justin since he is not on here alot. First Ive heard you say you would pay 200.00 for them, It should be 200.00 with the headlight bezel I will let you know when I hear back from him

From what I/ve read om the forums hornets shrouds and headlight covers are under $200 and right on for looks, color and texture. The DC stuff is not even as nice as maier from what I.ve read. I know a guy that got the parts from hornents and there dead on with the fenders.

Those shrouds look effin killer, I would love to have a set, do they make em without the decals on em, just plain ?

My tecate now has black fork boots and black seat so I really didnt want to put the decals back on, I powedercoated my frame and engine black so I am trying to make it look modifed but stock at the same time . Either way those shrouds are effin gangsta !

I find it rather hard to beleive that they are gonna go thru with making these.
It has all been heard before from them, as well as other companys "gonna" make stuff. Not quite sure what that is all about, leading folks on and all.
If they do get to these, the marketing guy has longggg missed the boat. Hornetspower has had his FINE products out there for a number of years now selling world wide. Probably not to the saturation point but certanly has taken care of alot of folks.
Us repro guys would NOT be making what we make if there had been something out there too start with.
