New trike to the family! 200x

142236142237142234142235142231142233Hi guys, I just bought an atc200x 1984 (I believe from what's left of the sticker) for 200$ came with 2-3 parts engine, spare rear shock and headlight came appart. It has a brand new full cobra exhaust. Fenders are in bad shape but I dont plan on replacing them.

The dude said it runs great, doesnt smoke, shift through all 5 gears. I couldnt verify that because the kickstart is ''stripped'' as he said and could not bump start it (Snow and ice). I know stripped kickstart is a very common issue on 200x's.

I wanna more about the engines that came with it. The one with a red painted head doesnt look like the one the trike and like the other spare I got... Oil dipstick, Kickstart lever and little kickstart cover look odd compare to the other ones... I'm not sure if theres any numbers on the engine that could give me more info.

I plan on tearing the engine appart and see whats up with the kickstart and inspect everthing while I'm in there.

i know the xr200 engines are similar to the 200x engines and will bolt in so thats what that might be?? i would say good deal for 200 bucks

I was thinking maybe 86-87 low end with a 83-85 head? Did 86-87 engine had issues with kickstart gears?

The motor with the red top end does look like it's from an XR200 with that curved kickstarter and the dipstick angled back

Wicked trike. I had three of these at the time but got rid of 2 of them for some reason I don't know why! The other one just can't seem to let it go..

im pretty sure in 86-87 they fixed the problem. but a 1st gen head will not fit a 2nd gen
