I have an 85 200x that I just did a full rebuild on (piston, rings, valves, valve seats, gaskets, etc.) and I was just wanting to know if it's running lean rich or just right. The pictures shown weren't above 1/2 throttle because I am breaking it in. I finished my rebuild on sunday, I started the break in process on monday had have probably only run it for 30 minutes so far. My 200x has stock exhaust without the baffle and a moose air filter and a .50 over bore and new valve seats cut and new valves. I had it professionally bored and honed by the way. I have a 115 main jet in it now and the slow jet screwed in all the way(there was no specifications on the slow jet) and the needle set on the stock clip. Thats the jetting this plug was run on for about 10 minute intervals at no more than half throttle and a total of 30 minutes run time (so theres thirty minutes on this brand new plug). Like I said I just rebuilt my motor and have only run it 30 minutes and all thirty minutes this new plug was in it. Is it lean? do I need a bigger jet in it? or what? Thanks.

well the stock jet is a 108 and the pilot screw says to start out at 2 and a half turns out if i remember right does it back fire when you let off the throttle? i would start with putting a 108 jet in it then put the pilot at 2 and a half let it idle turn the screw in untill it runs ruff then turn it out until in runs ruff then turn it half way in

Not sure if your airbox lid is on or of, I'd rather start rich and work my way down rather than use a sock jet on a motor if it has mods....

So you think i can just leave it it seems like its getting hot quicker then it used to but i assume this is just because of the elevated friction levels.

Looks a bit rich to me... A bit of a copper color is perfect.

copper color i though was perfect. which means you have to bump up your main jet a few steps.
